2. Score the outline of the hinge with a utility knife or chisel.
3. Use a chisel and hammer to gradually remove wood within the marked area.
4. Clean up the recess and ensure a smooth surface.
5. Test the hinge fit and make adjustments if needed.
6. Repeat for other hinge locations.
