How do single swing doors work?
A Swing door opens when a force is applied to the outer edge of the plate, which pushes or pulls the door, enabling it to swing on its hinges up to 180 degrees. There must be free space behind the door, so the slab can move freely.
A slab requires 2-3 hinges, depending on the weight. Additional hinges are generally needed to support taller doors.
Door swing direction
Hinged doors swing either inwards or outwards. The side of the door that is pushed or pulled is referred to as the "handing" of the door.
Some hinges allow the slab to swing both ways; we don't offer them here at Door Design Lab.
A hinged door can be used in almost any location, like front entry, rear entry, and interior and wardrobe doors. Single swing doors are usually the cheapest option, thanks to their simple construction and installation.
The materials used in Belldinni doors:
- Pine,
- MDF panels,
- MDF boards,
- Door core (solid core, honeycomb),
- Finishes such as natural wood veneer,
- Polypropylene,
- Enamel paint.
Any Belldinni door slab can be turned into a hinged door.
Our door models are flush, french, stile and rail, or louver.
The door slab may have a knob or lever entry, be lockable or not.
