Modular Optima Exotic Wood Double pocket doors – Page 6

A double pocket door is a type of door system that consists of two door panels that slide and disappear into adjacent walls when fully opened. This system allows for a wider entrance or connection between two spaces. The installation of a double pocket door requires a wider wall space to accommodate both door panels and their respective pockets.

1. Assess the wall and space to ensure it can accommodate the double pocket doors.
2. Prepare the opening.
3. Frame the pockets within the wall according to the doors' width and height.
4. Install the track system on the top of the opening and attach hangers or rollers to the door panels.
5. Lift the door panels onto the track and ensure they are level and plumb.
6. Test the sliding motion and adjust the hardware as needed.
7. Install floor-mounted guides and stops to prevent swinging and ensure proper alignment.
8. Complete the installation by applying trim and casing.

Yes, it is possible to install a pocket door in an existing wall, but it can be more challenging compared to installing one during new construction or major renovations.
